Introduction
If you know me, you know I love good design and good dessert! So this project was basically a dream come true. For one of my favorite class projects, we got to create a full brand identity for a fictional food truck, and I went all in with a concept close to my heart: Sweet Retreat, a dessert truck inspired by my Mexican roots and all the sweets I grew up loving.
Story
The idea for Sweet Retreat came straight from my childhood kitchen where there was always something warm, sugary, and made with love. Churros, pan dulce, flan and more, those flavors aren’t just nostalgic, they’re a part of who I am. I wanted to create a brand design that felt just as vibrant and heartfelt, and could bring that same comfort and joy to other people.
I designed everything from scratch: the logo, truck wrap, menu screens, magazine ads, social media posts, and even a full app prototype. I also had so much fun editing the promo videos to match the playful and colorful vibe I envisioned for the brand.
And while I’m not the biggest fan of some of the desserts I ended up putting on the menu, my mom would totally scold me and ask if I even had any Mexican blood in me 😂. It became this funny push-and-pull between us.
Conclusion
Sweet Retreat isn’t just a made up brand. it’s a reflection of my culture, my creativity, and what I hope to bring into my work as a designer: joy, personality, and a strong visual voice! I loved every second of building it, and I hope it makes you crave something sweet and smile a little too!
